Russian Wooden Architecture

This gorgeous architecture style had its roots in the Kievan Rus state. After the fall of Kiev in the thirteenth century, this style took its root in Russia. Today, we find many buildings all over the country with this ornamentation, from ancient cathedrals to modern schoolhouses. In small, isolated towns and deep in the woods, examples of this style are found untouched. Additionally, many modern architects re-create this look on modern buildings.
