One popular location for Russian vacationers is Zelenogradsk. Located on the Sambian coastline on the coast of the Baltic Sea in the Kaliningrad area, Zelenogradsk has wide beaches with clean white sand and hidden beaches protected by the wind. It formally belonged to East Prussia and was named Cranz and was annexed to Russia during World War II. Along with its beautiful beaches it has a strong fishing industry.
