Dried fish snacks

I went to the Russian district near Miami with some family friends from Russia. I saw that many of the grocery stores I visited had a large selection of dried fish in packages. My friends told me that they were a snack that most Russians and Ukrainians ate with beer or alcohol. They said that most bars in Russia offered these fish as drinking snacks like bars in America offer pretzels or nuts. They are made from many kinds of fish. The most popular type of fish is Vobla, also known as the Caspian Roach fish. The fish are salted and dried. The package I purchased is labeled “Gold Fish” with the ingredient “Bigeyes Snapper”. I saved my packet of fish for the Super Bowl. They taste like a very salty fish bubblegum.
